The World Photo School was created by husband and wife photojournalists and trainers Alex Mita and Luciana Franzolin with the dream of bringing Photography Workshops to aspiring photographers around the world.
With over 10 years combined experience in developing and teaching workshops at London School of Photography, one of London’s most prestigious Photography Schools, Luciana and Alex have designed short, practical and fun workshops for enthusiasts of all levels and backgrounds.
WPS has run courses and workshops in the UK, Brazil, Cyprus and has now teamed up with Insight Vacations (part of the Travel Corporation) to run photography workshops during special interest tours around the world. The next Picture Perfect Tours will take place in Italy, going from Venice to Rome, from 9th September to 4th October 2013.
The World Photo School is also a member of The HUB network, a global community with physical spaces and classrooms in 30+ cities across all 5 continents.
Alex Mita MA – Born in Cyprus, Alex began working as a reporter for the Cyprus Mail newspaper in 2001, and has covered assignments for the Irish Independent, the Daily Record and the Sunday Mail (UK). In July 2006, Alex was hired by AFP’s Middle East Bureau. His pictures have been published in media giants like the Guardian, the New York Times, Daily Telegraph, Stern, Le Monde and other. Alex completed his MA in Photojournalism at the University of Westminster in 2008 and has developed and delivered a workshop in Photojournalism and Street Photography at the London School of Photography for over 4 years, also teaching Digital Photography for beginners on a daily basis. He now divides his time between World Photo School and his freelance work, also pursuing personal projects. www.AlexMita.com
Luciana Franzolin MA – Born in Brazil, started her career in photography as a darkroom technician in 1996. Finishing a Journalism BA in 2000 and Photography Specialisation in 2001, she has worked for newspapers and as a freelance photographer moving to London in 2003. Very passionate about life, people and communication, she has worked in a wide range of environments and assignments and completed her MA in Photojournalism at the Universtity of Westminster, London, in 2009. She is C.O.O at London School of Photography, where she has worked since 2007, previously as a trainer and director, and is a resident artist at Multigraphias.com.
